Examination pressure can make you forget everything you have learned. If you are looking to save information in your mind, this article will provide you with many useful tips. Here are some suggestions to help you recall information easily.
1. Stroll.
Before studying, step outside to enjoy the fresh air for at least 20 minutes. Research shows that exercising before an exam or class is beneficial for memory and the brain. Store enough energy for the lesson to not feel tired.
2. Write lesson content on memory cards (flashcards).
Exercise triggers the mental and physical memory connection that typing or printing cannot create in the same way. Writing is also a long process so that the information has enough time to dig into memory. You then put all the cards in a stack and shuffle their positions. You should assign a color to each different subject. For example, all the cards for English will be blue, the cards for math will be red. Put the cards in the envelope so they can fit into your notebook. That is the method I use to do my homework to avoid missing any tasks.
3. Use memorization techniques.
When studying, you should use different learning methods to help deepen information in the beginning. For example, reading the lesson aloud instead of reading it silently will increase the likelihood of recalling information after the lesson. When studying, remember important points before focusing on less important ones. I usually use it to do my homework completely.
4. Use the question/answer method.
At the end of each class, you prepare questions about the knowledge you have just learned. Write each answer on a piece of paper. Repeat this method a few times if the information is particularly difficult to remember. Finally, type the questions you cannot answer. When I do my homework, I usually note down the problems I meet and I will ask my lecturer in the next lessons. Therefore I can understand and remember this knowledge longer.
5. Listen to classical music.
Listening to the right type of music while learning can improve your memory. Keep the volume at a moderate level so you don’t get distracted. They don’t have loud noises or melodies. If you find any music distracting, you should turn it off or change to another song. For me, I usually choose light music when I do my homework.
6. Breaks.
Although you really want to cram information, it really takes time to take a break so the brain can absorb and process the information. Taking time to relax also helps boost your motivation and concentration. Participate in relaxation activities for a short time before returning to your desk. When I do my homework, I usually separate my time to guarantee I have enough time to break.
7. Use scents or flavors to stimulate memory.
Spraying perfume smells strange during class. When you’re taking an exam, you can use that smell to improve your ability to recall information. Chewing gum also applies to this method. However, make sure you are allowed to chew gum during the test time, or you will get in trouble. Another way to use fragrance to enhance memory is to spray perfume on your notebook (each subject has a different smell). Before the exam, you spray that perfume on your body.
For example, with math, you use vanilla flavor while learning, and when you smell that smell you’ll remember important equations that need to be used.
8. Change placement of study. Information is better kept as you change your study space.
Find the best rooms without distractions, such as your library or private room. Remember to relocate all electronics that may interfere with learning. Avoid positions with loud traffic and distracting sounds. With each lesson, change the layout of the surrounding space. The library is always the second choice for me when I do my homework.
9. Maintain focus on the lesson.
You should keep the focus on important information and avoid unnecessary information. Avoid learning too much and cramming useless information. Many people tend to focus on unnecessary information and forget important issues.
10. Study in the same position.
Research shows that memory stores information easier when you study in the same position as the test. Adjust your surroundings and sitting position so that you sit in the same space as the test. For example, if you are preparing to take a test on your desk, sit at your desk to study.
11. To sleep.
On the week before the exam, you must take adequate rest. Getting enough sleep for 6-8 hours is essential for energy and good health. Getting enough rest the evening before the exam is even more important. Although you want to stay up late to learn to stuff, your brain won’t be able to store good information at that time. You are depriving yourself of the opportunity to rest and will result in a lack of energy and ability to concentrate. Getting enough sleep will ensure better test results.
12. Eating.
Maintain a balanced diet for good health and proper energy levels. You can improve your focus by eating a balanced diet with adequate calories and carbohydrates. Eating healthy foods like nuts and fruits during breaks will help maintain your health.
On the test day, you have to eat a healthy breakfast. You must eat well so your stomach does not disturb during the test. Healthy eating also provides adequate energy.
13. Review in the morning before the test.
Before the exam, you should review exercises fast. Write down information that you find difficult to remember. Skim through questions that you feel unsure. However, avoid learning stuffing because this is not very beneficial to the brain.
14. Exam.
Try your best and maintain an optimistic attitude. Do easy questions before returning to difficult questions. Circle sentences that you are not sure about, and move on to other sentences to save time. Answer questions on essays with clear outlines, justification with the right amount of information. You need to manage your time well throughout the test, making sure to spend enough time on each question.
Check all answers. You may find minor errors or careless answers.
Avoid spending too much time on a question. It is important to distribute the time well for the whole assignment.
